According to our experts, the ingredients can become worn as time goes by, especially the perfume and color, but this does not greatly affect the effectiveness of the laundry detergent. Unless it smells bad or changes its consistency, you can use it without any concern. The laundry detergent should be stored at room temperature; very low and very high temperatures (below 5°C or above 30°C) should be avoided.
dalli Home Care Curd Soap is saponified on the basis of raw materials of animal origin (beef tallow) and is therefore not vegan. The dalli Care Curd Soap is a product based on vegetable oils and does not contain any ingredients or raw materials of animal origin.
Cracks or breakage of a bar of soap might be caused by the highly water-soluble components of the soap, such as the glycerin contained, being washed out faster than the actual soap. This effect is intensified if the soap is heavily water-soaked, for example during showering, and consequently will dry very slowly or not at all. And this might result in tension cracks occuring during the drying process or, in certain instances, finally lead to the soap breaking into two pieces. You can react to this by placing the soap on a dish with grooves or holes after use, but unfortunately you cannot avoid this effect completely. What is more, dalli curd soap is produced as a strand and then cut into pieces. Most of the other commercial bars of soap are pressed using a mold. However, the strand production favors the tendency to crack. But unless you want to do without the caring ingredients, this flaw cannot be excluded.
The recipe of dalli MED laundry detergent has been recently revised. The white coloring of the predecessor resulted from an opacifier containing microplastics. The new recipe is now free from microplastics. That is why the laundry detergent is now clear and slightly yellowish. Additionally, the alcohol content has been increased in order to assure better stability of the detergent. This effects the now noticeable odor of alcohol. Viscosity has been reduced, too. But this does not affect the cleansing performance. The new recipe was tested and recommended by the DAAB, of course.

The new dalli laundry detergent formulations are free from microplastics
Dalli takes on responsibility and is committed to a sustainable future.
Therefore, in accordance with the definition of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), our formulations with our label are free from microplastics.
Worldwide, there is still no uniform definition of the term microplastic. Nevertheless, the UNEP definition is increasingly gaining acceptance, especially as it provides a suitable basis for factual-scientific considerations on the topic.
As per UNEP, microplastics consist of “solid, water-insoluble plastic particles that are five millimetres and smaller”. This definition of microplastics is also shared by the Federal Environment Agency (UBA) and the World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF) Germany, for example, and we also use this definition as a basis for assessing our products and selecting suitable ingredients.
It is also important to point out that water-soluble or gel-like polymers are excluded from this definition because, according to current knowledge, they do not pose the danger as microplastic particles.
